Why do we need women to run for political office?

While 51% of the U.S. population is female, women make up only 18% of the U.S. Congress. So, the question becomes: How can we get qualified women to say “YES, I want to run for office.”? Diana Cihak, founder of WE PAC, will discuss coaching on the unique skills required of candidates for elected office. Her political action committee focuses on fundraising, public speaking, image development, press/media relations, and leadership development.

Diana Cihak has found a way to combine the skills she has garnered from her entrepreneurial, political and government experience to successfully consult businesses in working successfully with government. As a President of Upper Edge Consulting, Diana takes a multi-disciplinary approach to finding sources of government funding for businesses that offers a public benefit aspect to their community. Diana is the Founder and Board President of WE PAC and the WomenElect program. WE PAC is a political action committee that gives women the tools and knowledge so they are inspired to throw their hat in the ring and say, “YES, I want to run for office!” She also serves as the State Vice Chair for the Women’s Equality Party, on the Board of the Women’s Business Center at Canisius College, as well as Women Events Buffalo.
