Since June 1989, the NY Grace LeGendre Endowment Fund, Inc. a 501 (c) (3) corporation has awarded 146 Fellowships ranging from $1000 to $1500 each to women enrolled in graduate study at New York State Colleges and Universities.

The BRA PROJECT: Did you ever buy a bra, get it home and say what was I thinking? The gently used bras are sent to Africa and Central America to be resold by women freed from human trafficking, specifically the sex trade. These women now have a legitimate income and can earn a middle class living for themselves, their children, and extended families.

When we began the fight for VAWA, every 15 seconds, a woman in America was subjected to domestic violence. Despite its pervasiveness, domestic violence was regarded as a private family matter, and it received very little attention from the media, lawmakers, and law enforcement. After decades of systemic failure, federal action was necessary to prevent domestic violence incidents, better serve survivors, and hold perpetrators accountable.
