NYSW Buffalo Niagara Chapter - Buffalo, NY - Membership

Why I am a member

I am proud to be a member of NYS Women, Inc.  I am so impressed by our dynamic, dedicated members who apply their talents and time in advocating for women.

~ Katharine Smith, White Rabbit Design
NIKE Editor

I joined BNC because I really like being able to connect with many professional women who care passionately about their community.  It is a great group of women who have a great variety of expertise.

~ Fran Vaughan, FMV Tax Professionals

"Since joining BNC (formerly BPW of Buffalo) over 20 years ago, I have been able to apply and expand my leadership skills in a supportive environment. Having the opportunity to "practice" these skills has greatly increased my circle of influence, as I have gained many friends and colleagues locally and statewide. Accepting leadership positions on the local and state levels challenged me to tap into undiscovered inner resources and abilities, to take risks and be rewarded with personal and professional confidence . The diversity of our membership, the opportunities to share knowledge and experience, to mentor and be mentored are benefits that no other organization provides. We stand on the shoulders of the women who came before us...it is now our turn to help those who will follow us..."

~ Linda Przepasniak, Member
Past BNC President, Region Director, NYSW President, NIKE Magazine Editor and NYSW Strategic Planning Chair

What I enjoy most about being a member of NYSW, Inc. are the relationships I have developed.  Our Buffalo Niagara chapter has a diverse membership of women from many different backgrounds and careers.  The meetings are always interesting, but most of all, it is the wonderful people who have supported me and my business for the past 28 years that I value the most!

~ Joyce S. Delong, Owner, Insty-Prints of Cheektowaga, Past BNC President

As a member of BNC,   I  enjoy  the great camaraderie and friendships that I have developed within the organization. There is always a member ready to share her knowledge and expertise, and I feel my personal  growth and development is largely due what I have learned from my fellow members.

~ Sue Mager, NYSW President 12-13, Past BNC President

I remember my job was quite stressful at the time. When I went to a BNC meeting, I would forget about my job for a few hours and by associating with other women, I found I was not the only one who was stressed. I was a member for about 2 years and would come to the meetings to hear the speakers. The first committee I joined was Membership. It truly was easier to meet people in a small group. From that point on, I learned that you had to put something in before you could expect to get anything out of BNC or anything in life for that matter. I became more active and made many wonderful friends. I said this before and I’ll say it again, if I had my life to live over, I most assuredly would join BNC again.
