NYS Women, Inc. has signed on in the effort to get passed the “New York Salary History Legislation” (A.2040C/S.6737A).
As part of these efforts, the Erie County Commission on the Status of Women will be holding a press conference on Pay Equity Day, which is Tuesday, April 10, 2018.
Karen L. King, PhD., executive director, Commission on the Status of Women is planning a Pay Equity Day press event with Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz in downtown Buffalo. The commission is looking for participation from women-owned businesses who will endorse, support – and within their own companies, follow through on – with this legislation which no longer requires salary history from job applicants.
NYS Women, Inc. has signed onto this public policy initiative:
- It strengthens women’s finances (supporting families now and in retirement)
- Creates upward economic mobility for women (enabling them to contribute more to our local economy)
- And helps close the pay gap between male and female employees
