Please join us for an in-depth conversation about the continuing repercussions the pandemic has had on women. Our speaker, Sheri Scavone is the CEO of the WNY Women’s Foundation, which believes that when women are secure, entire communities are stronger.

The pandemic has exacerbated what has always been known – but has been overlooked – that our society rests on the backs of women, especially women of color. Sheri has some profound questions for us: Why were women disproportionately impacted by the pandemic? Who noticed (hint: we are still missing 2.1 million women from the workforce)? What can we do about it?

Sheri Scavone is the CEO of the WNY Women’s Foundation. In her role, Ms. Scavone uses Foundation research data to educate, convene, advocate and forge collaborations with key community stakeholders to address gender inequities and other issues preventing women from achieving economic self-sufficiency. She leads the Foundation to create opportunities for all women to learn, earn and lead. Ms. Scavone is a tireless advocate for girls and women.

Sheri has over 40 years of experience leading and growing public and nonprofit organizations to achieve strategic goals through collaboration, communication and connections. Ms. Scavone is a tireless advocate working to drive change towards greater acceptance and tolerance - particularly for women, families experiencing poverty, those living with mental illness and LGBTQ and marginalized youth.

Ms. Scavone is a licensed physical therapist, earned an MS Executive Leader degree in Health Systems Administration and has an advanced post-graduate certificate in Palliative Care. Ms. Scavone is a Health Foundation of Western and Central NY Health Leader Fellow and a Trauma Informed Champion.
