From Corporate to Startup

From Corporate to Startup

After 18 years as director of marketing for Fisher-Price, Kirsten DiCarlo took the entrepreneur’s leap of faith to start her own company, FabUBus Mobile Spa. Unable to get a manicure during a particular busy time at work, a friend joked to Kirsten, “Too bad the manicure couldn’t come to you.” From that little comment came forth Kirsten’s big idea – a mobile salon! Equal opportunity for women is as crucial a topic in today’s political climate as it was when Susan B. Anthony was arrested in Rochester for attempting to vote. Join us for a discussion about the social, professional, and political progress of women in New York State. We’ll connect contemporary concerns – civil rights, gender diversity, equality, and civic engagement – to the legacy of women’s suffrage.
