Catherine Linder Spencer is an award winning Buffalo born and Buffalo-based artist. Catherine’s work has been exhibited widely in museums and galleries throughout Western New York including the Albright Knox Art Gallery, Burchfield-Penney Art Center, and The Castellani Art Museum and in major cities throughout the U.S.

Therese is a partner on a six-person wealth management team in the Merrill Lynch Buffalo office. Their team within Merrill Lynch was created by the three partners in 2010 and is known as The Siwiec, Ryan, Vita & Associates Group. Merrill Lynch itself was founded in 1915 by Charlie Merrill and Edmund Lynch, and was acquired by its parent company, Bank of America, in 2008.

Studio J was founded by Jayme Smith who was born into dance by her mother, Barbara Glover, owner of Miss Barbara’s School of Dance, the longest running African American dance school in Buffalo. Jayme wanted to open a business that would encompass many of her creative talents including dance, fitness and event planning.

The NYS Women Buffalo Niagara Chapter officers were elected on April 6th.

Nicola Bryant-Ballard co-owns Rudeboyz Artworks with her husband Qean. They originally gave the concept a trial run over the 2015 holiday shopping season as one of the temporary shops in Queen City Pop-Up downtown.

 

Professor JoAnne Sundell received the 2015-2016 SUNY Chancellor Award for Excellence in Adjunct Teaching. On March 1st, State University of New York Chancellor Nancy L. Zimpher announced the 46 system-wide recipients of the 2015-16 Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Adjunct Teaching, which recognizes consistently superior teaching at the graduate, undergraduate, or professional level.

Cindi McEachon holds a special place in Western New York: she is the executive director of Peaceprints of WNY. Peaceprints of WNY has a haunted history – it was founded by the late Sister Karen Klimczak, SSJ in 1985 with the opening of HOPE House (a Home Of Positive Experience) on Sycamore Street in Buffalo.

Zelalem was born and raised in Ethiopia but left because of political issues in her native country. She immigrated to Yemen, alone, when she was in her 20s, and lived in a refugee camp there, where she met her husband, a political refugee. She learned the language, and started to work in a restaurant, eventually opening her own successful restaurant with a number of employees.
